Qatar's total hospitality inventory stands at 40,000 rooms by the end of the fourth quarter of 2024. Approximately 1,100 hotel keys are scheduled to enter the local market during 2025, according to a report by ValuStrat. ValuStrat stated in its latest report that approximately 67% of the total inventory consists of four- to five-star hotels.
Hotel occupancy increased in the fourth quarter, when the total number of visitors exceeded 5 million, reflecting a 25% increase year-on-year. Travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries accounted for 41% of the total.
Qatar's hospitality sector emerged as a strong performer in 2024, supported by a number of outstanding events that contributed to visitor inflows. Annual occupancy rates remained high even during the summer months, reflecting Qatar Tourism's strategic efforts to establish Doha as an ideal year-round tourist destination.
