Industry Analysis: What it actually means?

Industry analysis looks at how attractive a sector is and how value is shared within it, using lenses such as market size and growth, profitability, buyer and supplier power, threat of substitutes, degree of rivalry and regulatory barriers. Consultants go beyond generic frameworks by adding real pricing, margin and capacity data, plus competitor strategies and investment plans. This reveals where profit pools are and which parts of the value chain are under pressure. The findings feed straight into decisions on market entry, diversification, M&A and capability building.
