Sustainability Consulting: What it actually means?

Sustainability consulting helps organisations embed environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations into strategy, operations and reporting in a way that is practical and compliant. Work often starts with a materiality assessment and emissions baseline, then moves to decarbonisation or circularity roadmaps, supplier ESG requirements, and reporting aligned to frameworks such as GRI or TCFD. Consultants also link sustainability outcomes to financing, procurement and performance management so they do not sit in a silo. This is increasingly necessary as regulators, investors, customers and even employees expect evidence of progress, not just commitments. A structured sustainability approach reduces risk and can unlock new revenue and funding.
