Data Governance: What it actually means?
Data governance is the framework of policies, processes, roles and standards that ensures data across the organisation is accurate, secure, consistent and usable for reporting and analytics. Consultants help define data ownership and stewardship, data-quality rules, access controls, lineage and issue-resolution processes, and align them with regulatory requirements such as privacy or financial reporting. Without governance, BI, AI and digital initiatives become unreliable and expensive because no one trusts the data. With governance, data becomes a true asset: decision-making is faster, compliance is easier and integration projects are simpler.
