Sustainability Assessment: What it actually means?
A sustainability assessment is a diagnostic of how an organisation currently performs against ESG expectations, regulations and its own commitments. Consultants review policies, data quality, emissions, energy and water use, supply-chain practices and reporting to identify gaps and prioritise actions. This creates a baseline from which realistic targets — such as net-zero, waste reduction or responsible sourcing — can be set and tracked. It is particularly useful ahead of investor engagement, financing, major bids or public reporting. The main benefit is clarity: management knows where it stands, what matters most, and where to focus investment.
